Iain Hawk
Head of Art
Graduating from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art,
Iain began his career as a graphic designer working on sign
systems at the Countryside Commission for Scotland before
broadening his horizons at Terston Design Studios in
Edinburgh. He then moved on to the world of advertising,
joining Scotland’s then leading advertising agency, McCallum
Advertising as an art director. In 1982, he moved back to his
birthplace for stints at JWT and Ogilvy & Mather, New Zealand
before returning to Scotland to become Creative Director of
Ogilvy & Mather’s Scottish offices. In 1990, he co-founded the
creative consultancy Hawk & York and worked as consultant
creative director for Coltas and The Morgan Partnership as
well as for his own direct clients. Along the way, he was a
founding partner of Timberbush Advertising. Iain founded 60
Watt with Peter Mill, and has worked with him for the last 12
years having more than a little fun along the way.
